A
luxurious retreat in a spectacular rural setting, breathtaking
views, real log fires, excellent food and service and
a warm friendly welcome … what more could you possibly
want? Well, in order to make your stay even more enjoyable
and memorable, let us tell you what else you can expect
to find at Dalnaspidal Guest House.
-
A Complimentary
Tea Tray on arrival with home baking … just
to say “welcome!”
-
A
spacious Great Hall where you can
relax in front of a log fire and perhaps savour a
local malt whisky or simply curl up with a great
book.
-
An
elegant Guest Lounge with an “olde
worlde” feel complete with Victorian-style
electric fireplace and blackwood furniture from the
Knysna forest (on South Africa’s Garden Route)
where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks and snacks
or where you can simply sit and chat or indulge in
the quieter pastime of reading a book, paging through
a magazine or browsing through the local newspaper.
-
A
panoramic Sun Room for intimate
dining at individual candle-lit tables each with
a guaranteed
view of the spectacular countryside where you can
savour
a glass of wine over dinner while watching
the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean and where sumptuous
breakfasts
are served while you bask in the early morning
sunshine.
-
Two Covered
Porches which lead out through French
doors from the Sun Room, one with views down a
valley towards the sea and the other of the surrounding
countryside – just perfect for enjoying an
aperitif while watching the setting sun or for
lazy mornings or afternoon teas.
-
An
extensive Private Car Park at the
front of the property exclusively for your use with
the added bonus of an undercover drop off point for
your passengers and luggage..
-
Three
acres of Tamed and Untamed Garden for
you to enjoy and explore, complete with a water-filled
disused limestone quarry (fed by a natural spring)
where you can sit and enjoy the sheer peace and tranquillity
of country life and maybe catch a glimpse of heron,
Canadian geese or some of the other numerous bird
varieties or even deer.
-
Secure
Purpose Built Storage for
golf bags, hiking boots, rug sacks and fishing
rods.
-
Golf
Practice Balls and Open Fields for the
golf enthusiasts who want to perfect their swing
before the big game (but please collect your balls
afterwards).
-
Your
own Personal Chauffeur for taking
you to or collecting you from Campbeltown Airport,
Campbeltown Pier (if arriving via the Kintyre Express
Fast Ferry from Troon), Campbeltown Bus Terminal,
Machrihanish Golf Course or your next hiking point
along the Kintyre Way. (Please note that although
the shuttle service is free of charge, we do ask
that you give us prior notice to prevent any delays.)
-
Wireless
Internet Access as
not all people are lucky enough to be on holiday
while staying at Dalnaspidal.
-
Until
such time as we are granted a Restricted
Hotel Licence, why not bring your own bottle
of wine to enjoy with your dinner.
-
A
selection of Tourist Brochures as
well as a DVD on Argyll and the Isles and a Book
on Kintyre in each bedroom to help you plan your
days.
And
if all this still does not satisfy you, why not ask
for a Packed Lunch or Picnic Lunch (supplied
at an extra charge) and take a leisurely stroll to
Tangy Loch (about 2 miles away) … or what about
taking a Portable BBQ and BBQ Pack (supplied
at an extra charge) and
perhaps a bottle of wine to the water-filled quarry where
you can prepare you own BBQ for dinner and dine “al
fresco” … or if you do not want to prepare
your own BBQ for dinner, why not let us do it for you
in our purpose built Indoor BBQ located
in the Sunroom while you sit and relax on the Covered
Porch (please note that indoor BBQ’s can be requested
instead of the dinner menu at an extra charge but need
to be requested in advance and are preferable as part
of a larger group booking). And finally … how about
surprising your better half or better half to be with Champagne
or sparkling wine on ice or even a bouquet
of flowers and/or box of chocolates waiting
for you in your bedroom to kick-start your romantic getaway
(we are happy to arrange this on your behalf but please
allow a minimum of 2 days notice when ordering flowers
and chocolates)
